Once a person or an organization expresses a desire to have us do a rendering, we get together by phone or in person and consider the options.
The first consideration is whether the picture will be used to produce notecards and prints for a fundraiser or a mantel piece for home or business use.
Secondly, we determine detail factors, how many buildings will be shown, the viewpoint, elevation and which structures are prominent or facing the viewer. The size of the drawing depends on the foregoing. The cost of the project depends not only on size but on the overall complexity of the structures and terrain.
Thirdly, the price of the artwork is generally based on the size of the drawing and is negotiated after all of the above issues have been considered. Once a deal has been agreed to, we begin the "preliminary," a rough pencil sketch of how the drawing will appear when completed. The preliminary can be sent upon request to the customer to make any changes and/or additions. Once it is returned with the commissioning person's approval in the form of a signature, date and changes marked in red, we will begin the drawing.
ONCE A
"PRELIMINARY" HAS BEEN AUTHORIZED BY THE COMMISSIONING PARTY, there is a flat fee of $50 per hour for any changes made
after the inking has begun.
